Taghyeer's Executive Director: Muhanad Alkharaz
After an extensive search, Taghyeer Movement is pleased to announce the appointment of Muhanad Alkharaz of Nablus as their first Executive Director.
As the founder of Taghyeer shared, “This is an extremely exciting time. After our big success working on the ground and creating positive social changes in communities, our team chose to spend a few months focusing and clarifying our mission and building our internal structure. As a movement, we decided to find a Palestinian who could take us to the next level. Now, with Muhanad on board, we are confident that we will be able to build on the deep foundations we have laid throughout Palestinian society and, in the process, broaden and strengthen the movement. We have a new leader joining the leaders and a new captain steering the ship. We are thrilled!”
Muhanad brings to the job operational leadership and has experiences in community-based change within Palestine. He has an exceptional combination of organizational and communication skills, as well as a variety of highly relevant experiences. He has a BS in Civil Engineering (An-Najah National University in Nablus) and a MS in Water Policy from the University of Wisconsin in the USA, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
Muhanad is deeply drawn to Taghyeer’s mission and values:
“I am honored to be the one to lead this amazing organization into its next phase. I want to leverage the tremendous credibility and impact on the ground and expand it to reach out further into more Palestinian communities. Accompanied by a great team and local and international supporters, I believe that Taghyeer will be able to create positive change, which will lead to social and political growth and confidence ultimately leading to a democratic and independent Palestinian society.” He invites everyone from anywhere who shares Taghyeer's values and principles to “join forces and partner with Taghyeer to advance its mission in reaching and shaping a better future for the Palestinian people.” Muhanad started his new role December 1, 2019.
